Each Background Evening offers a unique opportunity to gain deeper insight into the ideas and personal histories that shape 1646's exhibitions. Inspired by ancient fertility rites and the festive imagination of the Fruitcorso of Tiel (NL), Eric Giraudet de Boudemange invites you to a collaborative performance to gather, move, and act within the themes of the exhibition Seeds of Plenty . Through simple gestures and shared presence, you will help to activate a temporary ritual of abundance. Borrowing not only from the joyful folklore of Tiel’s famous fruit parade but also from its beloved mascot Flipje, the performance playfully transforms ideas into a collective action: as a participant, you are invited to embody the cycles of cultivation, harvest, and renewal, exploring how our bodies become extensions of these rhythms of production and transformation. No preparation is needed – only curiosity and a willingness to take part. Come plant a gesture, join the ritual, and help bring this fleeting harvest to life!
